During this 2-day experience you will enjoy the landscapes of the Los Nevados National Park from one of its highest mountains. On the first day you will visit the splendid Otún lagoon, sleeping at traditional cabins, on the second day you will wake up very early in the morning, doing the trek to attempt to get to the summit of Nevado de Santa Isabel where you also will have a great panoramic of the whole National Park.
ItineraryDay by day
(06:00) – Departure from Pereira or Santa Rosa de Cabal in 4x4 cars byunpaved roads that take you to Los Nevados National Park, then you will check-in at a cabin located at almost 4.000 m.a.s.l. (13.000 ft). Afterwards you will do an acclimatization trek towards Otún lake where you will have a travel lunch admiring this splendid water body. In the afternoon you will head back to the cabin, will have dinner and will go to bed early preparing your body for the next day adventure.
(02:00) – Preparation of the equipment for the summit attempt, then you will be taken by car till the beginning of the trek at 4.100 m.a.s.l. (13.450 ft), where after some instructions you will start the trek till the top of the mountain. You have to get to the top of the mountain located at 4.965 m.a.s.l. (16.300 ft) before 7:30 AM. After some moments at the top you will start the way back, having lunch at the cabin before heading back to your hotel in Pereira or Santa Rosa de Cabal. There is an option for an extra price of ending this day in hot-springs complexes at hotels near the area.

ACCOMMODATION 1 night of accommodation in a rural basic farmers cabing in bunk beds.
ROOMS - Posada del Molino or similar: Private double, triple or multiple rooms.
ACTIVITIES All the activities mentioned in the plan, all in private or shared tours and transportations for maximum 4 people per guide.
MEALS 1 breakfast, 2 lunches and 1 dinner.
LUGGAGE 1 donkey for carrying a backpack of 10 kg maximum per person.
GUIDANCE Spanish speaking guides throughout the trip for all activities.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE CARD The tour includes a travel assistance card for all the days that covers possible accidents, medical attention and emergency transportations for a quick response in case of being necessary according to the evacuation time during the activities and level of medical attention at the destination.

What to take?Travel prepared
- Hat and/or other protection for the head and neck.
- Sunglasses to protect your eyes from the reflection of the sun.
- Appropriate clothing for activities and the treks under cold temperatures and take clothes for change in case of getting wet during the activities.
- Appropriate footwear for the hikes, a pair of trekking boots + a pair of rubber boots for the muddy parts are mandatory and at least one pair of sneakers for change. Footwear can get very wet during the hikes.
- Trekking poles might be useful.
- Sunscreen.
- Protection for electronic devices since they may be susceptible to damages due to humidity and/or rain.
- Non-disposable rigid container to refill water (canteen or thermos).
- Hands-free backpack, wheeled suitcases must be avoided.
- Flashlight.
- Personal documents and count with your own medical insurance.
